Behind the Lens
We’re Rashmi & Saurabh — the storytellers of Aura Light
From New Zealand beginnings to Calgary weddings in the Rockies, we’ve photographed and filmed 1,000+ celebrations with calm direction, honest emotion, and a timeless, cinematic feel.
About Aura Light
Aura Light began in 2014, when Rashmi and Saurabh were living in New Zealand—two creatives with cameras, a love for honest storytelling, and a habit of chasing light. What started as small, intimate weddings quickly grew into a passport-stamped chapter across New Zealand, Australia, Bali, and island celebrations where everything felt simple, emotional, and beautifully real.
In 2017, they moved to Calgary and built two distinct brands under one heartbeat.
RS Wedding Studios was created for South Asian weddings and cultural celebrations—Punjabi, Sikh, Hindu, Muslim, Pakistani, and multicultural wedding days.
Aura Light was created for traditional Canadian weddings: refined, editorial, and timeless—capturing the kind of moments that don’t need to be staged to feel cinematic.
Together, across both brands, they’ve photographed and filmed 1,000+ weddings, and have grown a trusted team of photographers and videographers who support their work—so every couple receives calm guidance, consistent quality, and a story that feels like them.
Whether a couple is planning a Calgary wedding, a Banff mountain wedding, a Canmore celebration, or an intimate elopement in the Rockies, their approach stays the same: gentle direction, real connection, and imagery that brings people back to how it all felt.
For couples looking for a Calgary wedding photographer and videographer team that’s grounded, creative, and intentional, Aura Light is an honourable choice.
Rashmi
Lead Photographer and Creative Head
Rashmi is the creative lead of Aura Light and one of our lead photographers—the eye behind the softness, the styling, and the frames that feel effortlessly editorial.
Her superpower is how she works with brides: the calm reassurance, the gentle confidence-building, the girl-to-girl energy that makes portraits feel natural instead of awkward. She notices the tiny details—hands, posture, movement, fabric, light—then turns them into images that look elevated but still honest.
Saurabh
Lead Photographer and videographer
I’m Saurabh—lead photographer and lead videographer. If Rashmi is the vision, I’m the one who brings it to life: keeping timelines smooth, directing when needed, and making sure the story flows from quiet moments to full celebration.
My strength is building comfort fast—especially for couples who feel camera-shy. I give clear direction without making it feel staged, and I’m always watching for the moments people don’t realize are happening—your parents’ expressions, the deep breaths, the little glances that carry the whole day.
Our Family, Off The Clock
Our Most Important asset
When we’re not photographing weddings, you’ll usually find us doing the simple things that keep us grounded — family time. We’re raising two girls, Samara (12) and Tiara (5), and they’re the heartbeat behind everything we build.
We’re a nature-first kind of family. We love slow evenings, long walks, fresh air, and little weekend escapes — especially anywhere that leads to water. Both girls are happiest near beaches, lakes, and those quiet spots where the world feels lighter.
And then there’s Coco (Our Puppy) — the newest member of our family (and the unofficial mood-lifter). He keeps everyone laughing, makes every day feel a little warmer, and reminds us to enjoy the moment… even when life gets busy.
